Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen Review

Biore is a Japanese skincare brand that is pretty widespread in Asia. And they do a wide array of sunscreens catered for different skin types and goals.

Today we look at one of their most iconic; the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence sunscreen.

This is a chemical sunscreen and contains alcohol.

The outer packaging. It comes in two sizes (50 grams and 90 grams). One is easier to find (50 g) than the other (90 g). It also used to come in 105 g but that is no longer sold in drugstores locally. Not in physical stores at least.

Description on the packaging is identical on both sizes. It’s a printed sticker in English because I believe the description underneath is all Japanese.

Claims and descriptions.

Directions, ingredients list etc.

The tubes. Very understated and clean!

Description on the tube. ALL in Japanese!

The top tube (90 g) has a flip cap while the bottom (50 g) has a screw cap.

The product. Appears white.

I KNOW! Blends into nothing!

Pros:
> NO WHITE CAST!!!
> Easy to apply and settles in nicely.
> Reapplies easily.
> Doesn’t pill.
> AFFORDABLE!!!

Cons:
> Not the most comfortable on the skin. You will feel it but for me, it isn’t too bad.
> This one stings my eyes (I know this is a very personal thing so you have to try it out for yourself).
> Makes my skin oily at about the 1 hour mark. (I have combination skin and it makes my skin oilier than it usually is).

After about an hour of wearing it. Forgive the perspiration, it was a hot day! It gives a pretty glowy finish.

Rating:
8.3/10
This one gives a glowy finish which isn’t some people’s preference. Which is also perhaps why my skin becomes oily over time while wearing it. I don’t mind this. My biggest gripe is the eye sting, which I have remedied by using a different product around the eyes.
